Historical Demon

I did this as a study for a sculpture I made back in the 80's, when I was but 16 years old. It was for a regional art contest. I actually came in a member of the top division and walked off with an award for this. It was quite an achievement at the time, as it was my first foray into sculpting. Too bad the sculpture did not survive. I used mortician's wax as a base, so it eventually degraded and fell apart. It was cool while it lasted.

The subject is of a 15th century demon taken from a European tapestry. Pretty taboo at the time.

Cerberus

Cerberus, the guardian to the land of the dead. This mighty beast was often depicted guarding the way to Hades. Cerberus appears to be a later refinement of an aspect of the much more ancient Hecate. As one of his labors, Hercules had to bring Cerberus back from the land of the dead.

Cousin to the Dragon...

The mythical Wyvern, is found depicted in heraldry throughout much of Europe. It is normally depicted as a two winged, two legged serpent. It originally came into being as the standard for the Roman Cohort which occupied Wales in ancient times.

Samurai

I drew this up way back in the days when I did tattoos (20 years ago). I intended to put it on my back, but never did. Not my usual style, but I have always liked it.

The Dragon

The dragon, long seen as an entity of great power. Dragons are said to be the incarnation of the natural chaos and power of the living world. The Asian form is the epitome of this type.

Three Faces of Hekate

The great Titan, Hekate, in her bestial form. Hekate is the guardian of the crossroads to the unseen and the world of the mysteries, and the prototype of the great beast Cerberus; guardian of the world of Hades. She is depicted with the head of a dog, horse, and serpent.

Pen/India Ink.

Evil Eye

The Evil Eye, long seen as a curse, is visualized in it's material form. A slithering, crawling abomination, intent upon seeking it's created purpose.
